Description

I imaged this last year in the Hubble Palette with my mono camera.  So, I did it again this year with my OSC.

NGC-7000  The Cygnus Wall

NGC 7000 - The North American Nebula - Emission Nebula The portion of the nebula resembling Mexico and Central America is known as the Cygnus Wall. This region exhibits the most concentrated star formation.  At optical wavelengths, the North America Nebula and the Pelican Nebula (IC 5070) appear distinct as they are separated by the silhouette of the dark band of interstellar dust L935.   It is 1,600 light-years away, with a radius of 28 light years and best seen from northern latitudes during the months of July, August and September.
